Arriving

I made it to Aix-en-Provence a few days ago and it has been amazing so far. The plane flights here were very tiring but it has been so worth it! Aix is a beautiful town, all the buildings are very pretty and there are lots of fountains and squares that add to the beauty as well. It is very hot here every day, the humidity and the heat is going to take some getting used to but it is again worth it. I have already spoken to several french natives, mostly to order food or ask about where to find things in stores but it is really fun to be able to communicate with other french people. We have grammar classes in the morning.

My roommate and I get along great. Her name is Elizabeth as well but she goes by Momo. (There were supposed to be a total of four Elizabeths in the program but one was not able to come. There are still three which is a lot!) Momo is from Atlanta, Georgia and she is really funny! We are constantly joking around. The rest of the people in the program are also really cool. We are all able to joke around and get along with each other.

Momo and I share an apartment with two separtate bedrooms, a kitchen/dining area complete with a mini fridge, sink and small table, and one bathroom with small shower. The apartment is quite small and has its challenges but it is good enough.

I am very excited to continue to improve my french and see more of France!

Here are some photos of Aix:

I will try to post more pictures of Aix as soon as I have time and I will also be posting about the activities and trips we have done.
À Bientôt!
